About Avianne Kingsley
Artist's Biography
Avianne Kingsley is a South African-born American fine artist based in Boise, Idaho. Working primarily in oil painting, drawing, and ceramic sculpture, she creates contemplative works that explore the relationship between the natural and the unseen through her artistic philosophy, Etherealism.
For more than two decades, her professional practice has evolved across a variety of creative disciplines while remaining grounded in careful observation, technical craftsmanship, and a lifelong fascination with light, nature, and the human experience.
Her work has been exhibited in galleries, museums, and juried exhibitions in South Africa and the United States, and is held in private and corporate collections internationally. Alongside her studio practice, she has pursued graduate studies in education, believing that both making art and teaching it deepen the way people learn to observe, create, and think.
Today, Avianne's primary focus is developing long-term bodies of work in oil painting and ceramic sculpture. Through Etherealism, she seeks to create art that invites quiet reflection, wonder, and a renewed awareness of the beauty that connects the visible world with deeper realities.
She lives and works from her studio in Boise, Idaho, with her husband, daughter, three rescued dogs, and a garden designated as a National Wildlife Federation Certified Wildlife Habitat. Her commitment to wildlife conservation and humanitarian causes continues to inform both her life and her artistic practice.
Artist's Statement
My current practice focuses on oil painting, drawing, and ceramic sculpture. Whether depicting landscapes, flowers, wildlife, or symbolic figures, through these disciplines I invite careful observation of light and creation, encouraging viewers to slow down, reflect, and consider the relationships between humanity, the natural world, and the Creator.
